hi guys i was wondering if anyone can help me out of this situation..: i have a brand new ps3 purchased from usa and i live in SIngapore so im using it in Singapore, but i dont tink thats the problem. i have never been able to switch it on before and have never seen the menu screen so far. when i press the power switch in front the red light turns from red to green with a blue below the green. however, after a few seconds, it all just turns red again. it never switches on. can anybody please give me some advice on this? i cant wait to use my ps3..

Have you rung the Sony support line? I gotta say it doesn't sound good buddy.

Do you hear a few fast beeps before the console switches itself back off again?

Anyway give the support line a call they're surprisingly helpful.

i see..thanks i did call sony and they said that my ps3 was auto-sensing so i can just plug it in! thanks so much for your advice, it really saved me!

Auto-Sensing? Is that a new feature or something? I was gonna suggest maybe the manual switch in back was flipped off.
