K to start off i got my ps3 hooked up to a 40 inch sony lcd hdtv. My question is that when i play ps2 games on the ps3 it does not use the full screen. It cuts off portions of the screen from the left and right. This only occurs when i play ps2. I know ps2 games were not made for widescreen tv's and it could be that the games screen was not built wide enough for it. Is anyone else having this issue with ps2 games. Its getting annoying not being able to play socom:CA using the full 40 inch screen

awww..poor you..lol..spare a thought for those of us still using a shoddy 29" regular screen.

Some PS2 games have a widescreen option in the display settings..if not, i guess you might jus have to put up with it

Progressive Scan is the name i think.....Use it if you have it.

i think that if you play ps2 games on a ps3, then the game wont fill up the screen fully because they are not in wide screen hd format games. but i wouldn't worry about that if i were you.
