PS3 Sixaxis Rumble

Is it just me or does anybody else miss the fact that the Sixaxis does not have a rumble feature?
I know the inclusion of the motion sensitivity is a good innovation as long as games don't start relying on it because then the PS3 will just end up as being a very expensive Wii (apart from the PS3 having a far better name, i mean, Wii? what's that supposed to mean?).
I just miss the physical feedback that you used to get from games such as Gran Turismo and the like, without that rumble it just always seems like there's something lacking from the experience now.
As far as the reasons for not having the rumble feature, first it was that Sony that said it couldn't work with the motion sensitivity, then Immersion said it could be done, but Sony wouldn't implement it because of the lawsuit against them, I mean, it was nothing personal, it was just Immersion tryin to get back what they felt was stolen from them with the inclusion of their rumble devices inside the Xbox 360 controller and the Dual Shock 2. It just seems to me that Sony, as much as I love them, are acting like a big spoilt child that's just had his sweets taken away from him.
I think Sony should just get its act together and try to forge a way forward with Immersion, who, incidentally, are still trying to work with Sony. It's time Sony started listening to what it's fans actually want instead of giving us their interpretation of what we want.

(After more thought, the PS3 could never be like the Wii. The PS3 has the backing of major software developers and also actually has some decent games, unlike WiiSports. Come on Nintendo you can do better than that!!)

The rumble technology is licensed by a company called Immersion..

basically they wanted money off Microsoft & Sony for using it..Sony believed their rumble differed from the Immersion Patent (think it was somat to do with the motors) so didnt pay and ended up having to got court..they lost and had to pay Immersion 90M (jus to note, M'soft paid up, and then bought 10% of Immersion so Sony was also paying M'soft..a pretty bitter pill to swallow id have thought..lol) they appealed and lost again. So thats where it stands at the mo.

A more worrying consequence is Force Feedback..!! Aspects of this technology are also lisenced by Immersion, whether that lies with Logitech to pay i dont know, but what i do know is GT HD V1.0 was the first release of the demo, this had FFB and was quickly pulled and replaced with V1.1 which has no FFB

If the future of GT has no FFB, its going to be a very bleak future

I agree.
What we've gained in the motion sensitivity we've lost in a physic response from games. I'd rather have rumble back any day. It seems that while most aspects of the PS3 have moved forwards, we've taken a step back with the loss of rumble.
