Disk Not Loading/black Screen

my ps3 has started to not load games for some reason,
it reads the disk and comes up with the first loading screen but when that goes away the screen just stays black........:

can anyone help this is so anoyingmad:

i'm having the same problem but my games work fine it's just with all my movies any type (regular or blue ray)

yes mine ps3 wont play any movie of anny sort what so ever, plays assasins crede fine and mx vz atv but wont play my other games, weird,

did u try reseting your ps3 on the settings - system settings??

Yeah I reset the whole system and even called playstation. They said that it's a malfunction that happens in 2% of all playstations but not a recall on it because it's not 5% or more. You have to back up the whole system and thehn reboot the whole thing and if that doesn't work (which it didn't for me) then you have to send it in. ****in bullshit if you ask me though.

u have to restore ur ps3 save all ur crap on a harddrive i called trouble shoot and thats watt they said to do

Check ur display setting to see if its all right
also check ur HDMI lead or VGA Watever 1 u Gt
i found out that i had a faulty HDMI Lead and woudnt bring up the XMB Home

Hey everyone i have been searching the internet for this exact problem and yes it is rare.

but it heppend to my ps3 just 4 days ago

played burn zombie burn one day and the next it did exacly that

start console perfect go to game (burn zombie burn) press x then it shows Ps3 intro then the screen goes black and hard drive activity light stops. like its just crashed.

i have read lots of thread suggesting things and here is what iv tried

1) restoring file system
2) restoring database
3) restoring default settings
4) backed up / full format
5) remove hdmi cable for 5 seconds after launching game
6) formatting the hard drive in another ps3 and testing a game which worked so it was not the hard drive
7) changing / testing all resolutions sizes
8) disabled internet connection
9) turned off information board
10) Deleting cache

nothing works and i have ur exact problem. but the ps3 XMB works perfect & internet just when i try to go on a demo/downloaded game.

i don't know is if this is a system memory failure or not i need help diagnosing the fault. did you manage to figure yours out ? or did you have it replaced

my warenty is out so im pritty much stuck
