that is a big problem buddy. if you dont have a computer then you dont have internet which means you wont have a router to play online. if i were you i get a computer and from there you can start the process. it may take awhile to get all the things you need but its all worth it. any more questions.

dudes do you even have a life. if you dont have a computer how do you live. not to menchan a phone. unless of course you just moved out into your own house. But yeah you really need to get a computer to really use the ps3 to the fullest. If you get the 60gb ps3 then you will need to buy a wireless router. If you have the 20gb ps3 then you must also have a router but it doesnt have to be wireless. Then put the ethernet that is provided with the ps3 into the router and your set. But if you are looking to get a ps3 you really should already know this.

Be honest, it could never compete with the ease of use of a PC.

ps3 online is amazing and free, the games are sweet that have it and i'd much rather play that online then PC.

Yeah but PC is just so much easier. Games like UT 2007 I will be getting for my PC rather than PS3, it just seems to do it better..

well games that are originally on PC (like unreal tournament) will obviously be better because theres where they generated.

The 60 GB PS3 comes with both wired and wireless connection, while the 20 GB PS3 comes with only wired connection.

In order to enable the online features of the PS3, You will need any type of device that will support an ethernet connection. (RJ45 connectors with CAT5 or CAT6 cables) You can accomplish this by using a cable modem (with or without router), a DSL modem (with or without router), or a phone line modem with a RJ11 - RJ45 router. Although, you will definately want to stay away from the phone line modem option due to its speed.

If you would like to use the Wireless functionality of the 60 GB PS3, you must also have an 802.11b or g compliant wireless router or access point. I would recommend on using the wired connection, since it is more secure and is less succeptable to interference or interruptions.

Question please!

I have a wireless 802.11b /g router in my room. In my room, my PSP connects to the internet with 100% connection speed.

When I eventually get a PS3 though...should that work the same?

if the ps3 is going in your room also then yes you will get a good connection, but its always a better bet to use the ethernet cable if your that close.
