Hi there,
I recently took the plung and bought a brand new PS3. I got Need for Speed Underground - it all looks great and seems to work well however, the game seems to jitter in certain places and the movement doesnt seem that smooth. Have I got a dud PS3 or is it the game .... Please HELP!

if it is horizonal youve got a better chance of not scratching the disks, also the blu-ray drive has 2 work harder it like xbox 360
have it horizontal lol

I agree a horizontal disk will play much better than vertical

Changing the orientation of the console isn't going to do anything. They're not going to "play much better". The disc scratching thing with the 360 is caused by a poor design in one of the DVD drives that were used, and it isn't an issue unless you move the console while it is on. It has nothing to do with it being vertical. It has to do with the angular momentum of the disc causing you to drive the disc into the laser, the design of the drive not preventing that, and the laser being very close to the disc. And it shouldn't have to "work harder", since it requires exactly the same amount of energy either way.

Minor framerate drops aren't uncommon, so you probably shouldn't worry about it. It's probably just a software issue. If there are drastic framerate drops then you may want to worry about it, but I'd suspect overheating or GPU issues. Disc drive issues seem like an unlikely cause for many reasons...

Go change it and ask for a new one, there is definitely an error on the game cd.
