Nintendo is aiming at a broader market segment than both Sony and Microsoft. While PS3 and 360 are duking it out in the gamers' segment, Nintendo is quietly establishing itself, or in some cases monopolizing other market segments. No matter if it is a 7 year old child or a 67 year old grandfather, almost anyone can just pick up the controller and play. Wii's low price, simplicity, intuition, and innovative use of technology is what is making it appealing to the non-gamers worldwide, thus boosting its sales.
