Ok I got the $100 HDMI cables but soon after noticed them for about $10-$20..........Whats the difference they are just wires is it the life span of them, quality i need answers please.

Apparently there is no difference between the expensive Monster Cables and the cheaper $10-$20 HDMI cables.

there is a difference in the wires, for example aqustic research is probaly one of the best types of HDMI cables to own and there likely to cost around $79.99 but if your just looking for a normal HDMI cable then yea the price will drop significantly. also you can purchase a ps3 HDMI cable which i think retails for about $100 so dont be fooled by the name, just go with what seems the best.

I thought the more expensive cables had better shielded wires, thus is less susceptible to noise, interference, and signal degradation, at least that was the case for component cables. Although I am not sure how much more extra shielding is going to help with HDMI's digital signals. In my opinion, you don't need to buy the $100 cables unless you are planning to place your Playstation far away from your TV set. if you are only using a one meter cable to connect your Playstation to your TV, then you should buy the cheapest cable you can find, since signal interference is minimal at a short distance anyway, not to mention the digital signals has very low vulnerability to noise or interference, since the data is nothing but 1's and 0's.

thanks for the very helpful informative info. i'm currently shopping around for a hdtv and would like to connect my ps3 with hdmi cable. at least i know i dont have to spend buku bux on a cable cuz my ps3 is gonna be around 3 feet from the tv.

Ok so im going to buy a hd ready television for my ps3. What do i need all together cables e.t.c

Depends... If you get a HDTV with only component inputs, then you will need the component cables for PS3. If you get a HDTV with HDMI inputs, then get a HDMI cable.

k so hondan your wrong, the ps3 doesnt have any inputs to have hd component cables....your only options mikey are to get an hdmi cable or hdmi to dvi cable

naaaaaaaaaah there is no defference man they want to make you craaazy and like that it works . take the cheaper one man my dad bought me the expiensive HDMI cable from one of the best store
then its getting cheaper and cheaper

PS3 can have component out just as the PS2 can have component out. It uses the normal analog AV output port, the wires are expanded to component RGB and RCA audio cables. The PS3 is only outputing an analog or digital signal from its analog AV and HDMI ports, how you carry that signal to your display is completely up to you.
