I had this problem. Check to make sure the HDMI cable isn't loose running from you TV to PS3. Also try turning off the TV and turning it back on.

Thanks Mike. And just another note. The ps3 seems to taking the cd also....meaning i can put the cd in and bring it back out. I will try that though and give you an update. thanks again mike
