20gb Vs 60gb!

ok i havn't decided on which one i should get...i know that the 60GB can hold more stuff (obviously)...and i also know that 60gb has the wifi....but can anyone tell me what else is the difference...and if i don't plan on putting much on the system itself and i don't want to get wireless sould i just stick with the 20gb.
also on the 60gb i read something about flash slots or something like that...what is that??

plus is it true that they are making upgradible hard drives...so does that mean more space in the future if you want it??

20 GB does not have WiFi and Media Card readers. However, you actually get more for your money. Originally, Sony did not intend to include the HDMI port in the 20 GB model, but that plan got scratched fairly quickly thanks to the bad press they got for that announcement. So basically, with the 60 GB you are paying for a media card reader and a WiFi adapter and a bigger hard drive. If you are not going to use wireless internet or SD / MMC or memory sticks, then go with the 20 GB model, you can easily swap the hard drive out if you think it is too small.

i was planning on getting the 20gb when i first decided to get my ps3, actually i ended up getting it and then returning it for the 60 just because i thought about what would benefit me in the long run, i'm going to have this thing for another 5 years and i dont want to be messing around with hard drives and worrying about to much saved data so i just figured what the hell and paid an extra 120 or w.e it was. the only difference between the two is the wifi and media card readers like hondan said and even if your not planning on using the wifi it would still be best if you went with the 60. also even if you plan on just using it for games you'll quickly find out that you'll want other stuff like demos and trailers etc (not sure exactly how much space a demo takes up) but yea go with the 60 and you'll be happy...plus it has a kick ass chrome finish

To answer your first question, SD and MMC are media storage cards, they typically go into digital cameras, computers or PDA/smartphones. I think Sony included the slots in order for you to transfer media from your camera to your PS3. Of course, since it is flash storage, you can also transfer any type of files to your PS3. However, USB harddrives and USB thumb drives will also work as a source of data storage on the PS3.

As for the second question. It really depends on the thing you want to download, but generally speaking the downloads range between 50 - 800 MB. Hope this helps...

Yeah, I think you should be able to transfer the photos from your camera to the PS3 directly through USB, but I am not 100% sure. Worse come to the worst, you can always transfer the pictures onto your computer and copy it over with a USB thumb drive.

it is completely your choice of course which one you do get. i have the 20 and it is fine for me. i am only using it for gaming, and i dont use wirless anyways. so it is perfect. 20 gb is a lot of memory still, because the xbox 360 only goes that high so of course it is a lot. plus it is very easy to buy a new hard drive that is bigger, and they are cheaper than 120 dollars anyways. plus there are websites that tell you how to swap the hard drives, its easy iv seen them. the best thing about the 60 i think is just the chrome finish. but how much time do you spend looking at that, you really want to be playing the games.

Here's a question. I know it's not strictly related to this thread but my question is this. I'm not planning on getting my PS3 online right away as I have to get another line installed because my line is quite a way away from where my PS3 will be situated but I still want to be able to download games such as Flow. This being the case can I download the games or demo's to my PC and then transfer them across to my PS3 on a flash drive or does it have to be downloaded directly through the PS3? I don't really know how PS store works so I would appreciate any help.

For all UK users, the 60GB is the only one being released in Europe.
