Over the last few years we have seen some great strides in the development of the Playstation (and other brands of Console).

Does anybody have any idea what direction future Consoles will take?

Just when you think that the Console cannot be developed any further, the manufacturers come out with some great ideas, and add ons.

What next?

Contendo will continue it's "our console is the inly one which you can have fun on" campaign and hold the industry back. PC's have already gotten FAR ahead of the consoles but soon consoles will rule the PC. Maybe with PS4 or 5, if they use that name still.

Ay make it like sytm that folds or something and it had a handle that pops out that would be sooooooo fly. Make it in multiple colors and some skins would not hurt. Keep The Playstation but call it like Playstaton Evolution and go from there. It would be fly if the controllers were still wireless and i was still touch sensitive. Still Gigs as memory dat would be sooooooooooo fly.

Hmm The future of home gaming. I have always wanted my own star trek holodeck.

I first started out gaming on an Spectrum 48k! And in just 20 odd years, look how far we have come. I holo technology is the next way forward for gaming and television.

I have to agree with Raindancer and his fabulous distraction....... Sorry got carried away there. A console or system that we interact with is a great way forward. Think about physically getting into a game and interacting with the environment. That would be cool but we are a long long way off from that. However if quantum computing was made available for public use the big three could come up with huge ways of improving the way we play games and keep us hugely entertained.

So how exactly is nintendo holding the industry back? How can one company among many that make up the industry hold it back? What did I not receive the memo about Nintendo buying the whole industry and sending out a memo telling all the companies they own to "hold back"? Oh wow thats really ignorant thanks. I could stop now and already have made enough good points to get into the Guinness Book of World Record Point Making but I'm a bastard. So consoles will rule the PC? Man I've been hearing that since...well...since I first got into console gaming around 1998. 10 years later, it still hasn't happened. Consoles wouldn't last more than a generation or two without PC and can never overtake PC for the same reason. PC is the bleeding edge of gaming. You see, developing new hardware is very expensive especially for GPUs which are very specialised pieces of kit. Now, a high end PC graphics card will set you back £400. Maybe £500 for the very best. But in a console, you may only pay £100 for the same bit of kit. Needless to say, these companies make the majority of their money from PCs. Without PC gamers snapping up the new technology every year and a half or so, what incentive would the GFX card companies have? Consoles? So they spend billions of dollars over a 5 or 6 year period developing a new GFX card, only to get back $50 per gfx card when the console company bulk buys a shit load for their new console? Consoles will never have dick on the power of PCs? Cell? **** that. Quad core CPUs are just around the corner and they are gonna make Cell look last gen.

I agree with PC gaming is the way to go but this is nothing new, it's always been the pinnacle of gaming excellence (that was good, just off the top of my head). But flight simulators? Smiffy I'll say it now, I must be an idiot because they're just sooooooooo boring!! (Nice graphics though)

I dont think I have ever so so much ranting and total bullsh1t from one person. Callmege have you:

1) Ever got anything good to say about something?
2) Ever not been first to do something?
3) Ever thought you may not know everything there is to know about PC's and Consoles?
4) Ever Had a girlfriend?
5) Ever been out?

If you think a Quad core proc is going to make the Cell look last gen then you have no idea about anything in the world especially girls. The Cell actually runs at about a tenth of what its total power can cope with. The area that is so far behind is the coding and developers not the actual technology. The Cell processor is far more powerful than anything available at the moment but if you stick a learner in a ferrari then its not going to be used to its potential is it?

Why don't you bring something POS-I-TIVE to the forum instead of being a nob about everything all the time?

Cue next rant about how I know F all about PC components and Playstations.
