Playstation Home
This new feature was just released when phil harrison made his keynote and it looks soo sweet, its basically taking ps3 to a new level...just looking for some peoples views and if there is a cost involved..

I'm looking forward to this concept although it seems to be a mix of Second Life, Mii and Achievements (xbox 360).

Sony really hit the ball outta the park at this conference introducing some very interesting software titles.
Apart from the initial Home press release not a whole lot more is currently known about this service.
Sony confirmed Home will be available as a free download in Autumn but whether that is a temporary thing or whether they plan to introduce a subscription based service isnt known yet.
Personally i cant see them charging for such a service.

i think the demo is available in spring for north america and is to be fully released later this year...

I love how home and little big planet looked. Sony really made a huge comeback at GDC this year. I think these new features will give more people a reason to buy a PS3.

I am quite excited about home!
I mean, I have never played online on a console before. *deprived* lol
When Home is released, it will be a great addition to my new PS3 [well, once I get in on 23rd March anyway!] Being able to create your own person, invite people round to your "home", start online games, bluetooth speech etc etc. Sounds fantastic!

Ya this is gonna be the best thing sony has done in a while and will make them some more money when people start buying the cloths that have a price. Cant wait does anyone have a relase date for the real thing not the demo? If anything like the quarter or month.......

The closed beta begins in April. Open beta is currently scheduled for August and October is when Home will go live.

Home will be free. It'll support itself off advertising - that became apparent when they started talking about private zones for specific games and companies. If this will catch on is still to be seen but it is VERY VERY promising and I'm personally looking forward to this!

I honestly don't understand the point of home. Every 3D chat app apart from second life has been about as popular as rabies. I bought myself a console to play next-gen games not to talk about them...no thats a lie...I bought myself a console to get me through February, March and April which always sucks for PC gaming. I don't care too much about XBLs gamerscore...sure its nice to see the number go up but in the end who gives a damn? And with trophy's and... its not real...if I got a real physical trophy I would care but as it stands you don't so as far as I'm concerned Home is pointless. At least in second life you can earn real physical money.

Home is just online community....Not like you have to use it...Its reason is a good one though for clan meetings which you cant quite have online unless you make a private one.....ANd also I hear there are physics in the "game" anyone know if I could through my TV I get in it?

I'm sure you'd be able to eBay your Home assets to other people. Plus, all the customization and trophies are just like getting loot in MMORPG. The satisfaction comes from showing off your uber loot to other people. |

yep home is not for everyone but i sure does look cool...and also it is for online gaming as well...clan meetings and setting up games with just who you want to play with like your neighboor or good friend and you don't want other people to bother you....then all you got to do is meet up at home!!.......to me good stuff!
