New firmware update??
Rumors have been spilled on this site no doubt that certain demos and movies would be hitting the playstations store yesterday along with a new and huge firmware update. i know this is untrue but when is this mysterious update coming??

I would think that Sony is holding off the updates until the Eurolaunch.

i heard they were releasing one for the other ps3's earlier because the new ps3s in europe come with the new update already installed

The big 1.6 firmware will be out this month. The background download is planned and a few other things. I don't think it would have been possible for Sony to load that into all the Euro PS3's because I'm sure they are still testing the firmware to make sure it'll work like it's supposed to. For your Europeans, expect to download a firmware update right away like the Japanese and Americans did when the console launched.
