ok there is a rumor going around saying that the 20gb ps3 in the US doesn't have an hdmi connection...could someone clear this up for me cause i am getting my ps3 soon and wanted the 20 gb one but if it doesn't have this then i will have to go with the 60gb....thanks

ALL PS3's have the HDMI connection. It was planned to have the HDMI gimpped in the 20gig version but Sony changed their minds after gamers had a fit.

The only thing you are forfiting with your 20gig PS3 is the ability to communicate with the PSP because it won't have the WiFi card in it.

A 20 GB ps3 can communicate with the psp using the usb port and the wire to charge the controller................

That sorta kills the streaming functionality however...

Is the 20gb version also missing the Memory Card readers that the 60gb one has?

Yep, they don't have the memory card readers. The 20 GB version looks a little different too, they don't have any chrome trim, but other than that, the hard drive space and the lack of WiFi, the 20 GB version will do everything else the 60 GB version can do.

If i were you I would just get the 60GB. Its better and just safer to have.
