Picked up resistance today, been on it for about 1 and a half hours and ever since then it keeps freezing and just stalls in a big way. At first i thought i had maybe had the ps3 on for a little bit to long, but its mostly been on since i got it on friday and all the othergames work ok.

Anyone else had this problem.

no never had this problem, but do you have your ps3 sitting on the carpet. if you do take it off its not good for it. if it keeps freezing i would return the game.

Thanks for the quick response. It is sitting on a glass shelf that is incorporated with the stand for the tv.

Just had a go at the down-loaded version of tekken and that has done the same.

I do hope my ps3 isnt broke.

I rented Sonic from Game Frenzy which arrived Saturday it was in perfect condition (assume I was first renter) but the Movie sequence intros throughout kept skipping, audio more noticeable than video.

Motor Storm which I own hasn't had any sort of problems, but when I tried Prince of Persia T2T on PS2 it kept freezing during game play.

Hoping something is up with the Sonic disc and with compatibility issues between that specific PS2 game & PS3 hardware. Everything else has been fine.

Interested to know if anyone else has had issues with stuttering playback which could indicate hardware issues

I took my copy of resistance back to woolies and got another copy of it, it is doing exactly the same thing.

Gonna take it back and get another game, props tiger woods and wait on updates to see if it cures the problem.

The only game I have experienced skipping and slow downs on is Oblivion, and even that is minimal. Freezing problems on this many games could indicate hardware failure... Maybe you should exchange your PS3 for a new one at the store, or send it back to Sony and get them to send you a new one.

Ive read on other forums that people are having the same problems. Not had any other problems on any other games, only tekken once.

Do ya know of any sites that give indications from the devs as to any problems that may exist with software upgrades and the like.

I would think the best sites to check would probably be the developer's website, in this case it will be Insomniac. I am not aware of any other websites at this point since I haven't ran into these problems yet. As far as the keyboard for Fedora goes, I just used an old Dell USB keyboard, and it worked fine...

Def a hardware problem, took resistance back and got a refund. Had to go to another shop to buy Ridge Racer 7, been playing it for a couple of hours and it froze.

Gonna be a nightmare getting it back, purchased it on-line from HMV and not to sure whether they can exchange them in the high street stores.

Ill find out for sure tomorrow.

By the way, this will be the first playstation I have ever returned since the very first one.

Sorry to hear that Wiggo, I had a feeling this constant freezing had to do with your hardware. If HMV gives you too much trouble, you might be able to call Sony, I think they are fairly fast on replacing defective units. Good luck.

Edit: Rang HMV this morning and they gave me a FREEPOST address to send it back to. They will deliver another upon receipt of the faulty one.

Should, hopefully, have a replacement by Wednesday next week.
