The Godfather don's edition

hey everyone, i was thinking of going out tomorrow and picking this title up but im not sure if its worth it. i played it for ps2 and it was pretty cool and just recently i read a review stating that the game lacks in nex gen graphics but is strong in a way that there is better gameplay and story..has anyone played it or have any views on the game...

Got bored pretty quickly with the PS2 version, just lacked depth for me. There's only so many punches you can throw before it all becomes a little linear.

No idea about PS3 version though, if you enjoyed the PS2 version and didn't complete it, I'm sure the you'll enjoy the PS3 adaptation. But whether there is additional content or extended graphics I've no idea.

Let me know if you do buy it though....

Would have to agree with Crash though, give it a rental first. Games frenzy even gives you a small discount if you decide to purchase the game after renting, so it's a no lose way of trialling.

Well I read the review today from gamespot it said it is the same game with bonus features like actually using your gang members......Same game though and yes a little better graphics...They also threw the sixaxis in there with throwing people and combat stuff......thats about it so if you have played the original it wont change too much.....

You didnt even have to fight to take over all the stores..........I didnt........

When the game was first released, I was kinda interested since it is the Godfather. But then the reviews came in and it sounded average. A couple weeks ago, I saw the PS3 Collector's Edition for $20 and I still didn't buy it. I have no intention of dropping $60 on a PS3 version either.

just bought it couple days ago and i'll tell you this, graphics are acceptable for a nex gen system, gameplay is fun with new features such as the sixasis and there are some new executions also you are able to get your mob to do things for you...story is the same with additional cut scenes...overall i like it but thats probaly because the godfather is like an icon to me...

Save your money for a next-gen game, The Godfather feels like a PS2 game on the PS3.

I would rent it first before I buy it... I played the game on the PS2 and wasn't too impressed...

If the games story is appealing to you you might as well pick it up for your PS3.
It has nice extra's compared to GTA and the game's mood is different.
I think it has enough extra's to keep you busy for some time.
You know that flash graphics ain't everything.
I'd rather play a game that looks like crap but has a good storyline and excites me ,then play DOA or Tekken or whatnot.
That's my 2 cents.

Bag of shit cash in. Graphically not much different to the PS2 version, not worth the asking price at all.

what the hell are you saying scootakuh, its so worthy of more then just a rental, first off its long as hell there are so many buisnesses and rackets to take over and cities to control, second there are new missions and the "hit squad" feature was added which is sick and when your in a mob war bombing other family buisnesses its so sweet, i will give you your comment on graphics, there not that much better then the ps2 version HD but there is more to the game then that...i am glad i bought it, its the godfather dude....the greatest story ever.
