Oblivion - Knights of the nine items
I have been playing this quest and have a few of the items but when I try to use them it automatically takes them off my character and tells me to return to the way of the pilgrim or something of that nature? What do I have to do to use these items I have collected?

You need to have little to no infamy at all to use your relics. That means you can't be evil and don't do anything illegal. If you do, you need to do the first quest again and visit the wayshrine.

So you have zero infamy in your stats page? Still, go back and do the quest again. I think there's a prophet at the Anvil temple, speak with him.

I want to know...
Is this game worth getting?
I am a fan of Final Fantasy, but never really tried other games in this field. As an FF fan would I enjoy this?

This is probably as far away from FF as you can get. You have to definitely drop your JRPG mindset if you want to enjoy Oblivion. There is a main quest, but the majority of the time spent in this game will be all the side-quests or just exploring the beautiful land of Tamriel in search of your own adventures.
Oblivion is huge. The world is vast and yet there's all kinds of details. You know in FF games where you go through people's shelves looking for potions or gil? You can do that in Oblivion, but you can steal pretty much anything you can pocket. You can steal the bread from their tables, the basket that holds the bread, the forks and knives, plates and the beef that are on the plates, etc. There are hundreds of books, some with over a dozen pages, lining people's shelves.
Think of the world as GTA, but it's full of homes, castles, towns, dungeons, ruins and the hellish Oblivion you can explore at your leisure. You can go to the top of a hill, look down on from its peak and go to any spot you can see. It's really breath-taking, especially watching the sunset from such a glorious place.

Its not too different from FF.......Just different battle system and free roam which FF is (only played FF10so I dont know how free roam is on others) big thing is the battle system. This is not only free roam it is free form so that you can interact almost 100% with the objects around you...I like to think of this game a combination of a JRPG and a GTA game....

This is so far away from JRPGs, it's a completely different genre. Besides the battle system, the level system is unique. You grow by using your skills rather than killing mobs (and people), but you don't level up based on total experience, but rather the level-ups of your main skills. If you mess up, your character can become really weak. There's no party, you're the only character you can control. The items you can carry has a limit so if you try to loot everyone or everything you see, your character will get so heavy he or she can't move. Then there's the matter of the story... or rather how minimal it is.

I am a huge FF fan, and to me, FF is based mostly on a fixed story... Oblivion, on the other hand, does have a story, but the openended, free-roaming gameplay and the real time combat reminds me more of a GTA or MMORPG title than a FF game. I think I can safely say that the sheer depth and size of Oblivion can blow any FF games straight out of the water. It took me a while to get used to the game, but once you get used to it, that is when the fun really begins.

Well it's lucky I am a GTA fan too! Hmm I understood that the battle system is COMPLETELY different. I was more on about how FF is now (in 12 it isn't random battles, you choose what to slay etc). I like open-ended gameplay.
I think this is a must for me.
One question: In one play can you only join one Guild or can you go through all of the Guilds and their missions as you wish?
