I bought Ultimate Alliance for my brother yday, and it says that it cannot be played because we need version 1.50 ... We have version 1.30.
It says i can update it but it says no applicable update data is available...... Does anybody know what to do?

Ok first do you have your PS3 online? If you do then simply go to settings > system update > update via internet and it will download the update for you.

If you don't have your PS3 online you can also download the update from the Sony PS3 website (www.us.playstation.com, www.eu.playstation.com, www.uk.playstation.com depending on where you're from). You can then transfer the update to a removable memory device such as a USB flash drive or Memory Stick Duo and then update it from this. To do this first download the update and put it on your memory device, insert it into the ps3 and again go to setting > system update but this time choose Update via Storage Media.

If you don't have a flash drive but you do have a memory stick duo, SD card or something like that you need to have the 60gb model PS3 as the 20gb version doesn't have the relevant cards slots, it only has USB ports.

Games also come with updates, simply go to settings > system update > update via storage media to see if it has the update (obviously have the disc in the drive first).

Finally I have heard that it's possible to burn the update file onto a CD and update that way, I haven't tried this so I can't comment but if all else fails it might be worth a shot.

So there you have it, I know it was a bit long winded but hopefully one of the methods above will work for you
