There are 3 vampire stages (if I remember correctly). Vampire 25, 50 and 75.
At 25 you look a little ill and are a little stronger than normal.
At 50 people will start to dislike you and you start taking a little damage while standing outside during the day.
At 75 people will run away from you, you look like death and spending more than 3 seconds or so in the sun will kill you. The advantage is that you are almost invincible.
You progress to higher stages of vampirism by not feeding for 24 hours, then waiting or sleeping. To go back to the beginning stage of Vampire 25 you just have to feed once. Just find a sleeping beggar at night, go to talk to him and select feed.
Luckily for everyone, there is a cure. Not an easy cure, but a cure none-the-less.
Go talk to a man in the Arcane University and select "Cure for Vampirism". He will direct you to Count Hassildor Skingrad in....Skingrad. Skingrad will tell you a story and send you to find a woman. Go find her. The woman will ask you go get her 5 empty grand soul gems. They can be bought from various mages guild or alchemy vendors and there are 2 or 3 you can simply pick up in the arcane university ground floor.
Once you've got all 5 (don't forget to feed regularly and avoid sleeping or waiting). return to the woman and she will agree to help you find a cure for vampirism. She will tell you to get:
The blood of an Argonian - Run up to any old Argonian and stab them once with the blade she gives you.
The dust of a powerful vampire - Go kill the vampire she directs you to. He's a pussy.
6x Garlic - You can find shit loads of this hanging above peoples fireplaces in Skingrad in the area of houses around Bernadette Penilles' house.
4x Nightshade - Find this in the West Weald, West and Southwest of Skingrad. It's quite hard to find.
Some bloodgrass - Just go through an oblivion gate...there is a shit load there.
I think thats it. If there are any more ingredients then just go find them. Take them back to the woman, wait 24 hours and bingo. Drink the potion and you're cured.
When fighting vampires keep a note of any text that flashes up in the top right corner. If it says something like "You have contracted Porymorphic Hemophilia" then go to a church and activate the shrine within 3 days. It's actually best to do this even if you didn't see the warning flash up just to be on the safe side.
