please, someone tell me. what's the big deal about GTA games? for one, people moan about how sport games are all clones each time a new upadated version of a particular game is released..say fifa..it's allways released yearly and the only new thing about the game is the graphics, players (dif teams ect) and kits..

isn't this the same with GTA games? the only main difference with each one is the story (which in each game, imo has no meaning and looses the plot pretty quickly) and the characters change each time round. it's weird because they all play the same, all look the same (i personally think GTA III looks/is the best)..so what's the appeal? all it is, is just roaming a city shooting cops and driving cars..starting gang wars ect. where as you games like..rainbow 6, allways great story, intense gameplay (especially in vegas) ect...but people don't suddenly go out and buy it, but thats the thing about GTA games. people just suddenly think it's going to be the best game of all time...

let me tell you a lil story, when GTA SA came out, i was totally hyped up. pre-ordered it months befor release and went into town at 8am in the morning just to pick it up befor anyone else. got home, played it for a solid 4 hours with friends..after they went i concentrated on the story a little more and befor i knew it i was half way through the game. maybe that's because i overplayed it or summit..but it got boring.........fast. all my mates at school were shocked at how quickly i completed it (about a week or so) and i was thinking the same. so anywho i played it for another few months befor getting totally bored of it.

i feel that's going to be the same for the new GTA, wether it be on PS3 (well i can't get it on 360 now can i? lol)..well ya know what i mean...i feel it will be an awesome game for the first few weeks..then all of a sudden you sit there infront of your tv thinking..what else can i do? oh yeah lets go pinp some hoes

GTA is allways over hyped and it annoyes me. don't get me wrong, i enjoy the games...but what's the main reason for them?..why all the hype?

Well the hype for this one is that it won't play exactly the same as previous ones. Bear with me as this could take some time. Firstly in previous GTAs when you where chased by cops you had a star system and all you had to do was hide for a few mins or respray the vehicle your in and that was it. Now in this it's like real life hide and seek. For instance the cops cordon off an area your suspected to be in and begin a search. Also you may need to hide from the helicopter and not get spotted by the searchlight etc. Also with the introduction of the phone you carry around in the game you decide when to begin a mission. You can choose to extort money or by property and get cars and stuff and then when you get low on cash if you know there is a mission waiting then you whip out the mobile and off you go. I could go on but we may be here all night and also we may get into the rumour end of it. Hope this convinces you to buy regardless. Also extra content fot PS3 WILL happen. Just not straight away.

oh i was going to buy it anyway, but i was just saying that each installment is the same as the last, only different.

but i suppose your right, with the new gameplay elements it will give it that extra shine it's been needing for sometime now.

It's a multitude of different things that atracts people to grand theft auto. you can do what you want whenever yo want, you can almost live an alternate life in the game. Even though there is a story, you can choose how to play it out, not just follow a linear path and the game is over. And ven if you do beat the story, you can still keep on stealing cars, collecting items, getting chased by cops, or whatever else you like to do.

i have no idea what the hype is about, while the gta series is good there not all that great, i have always used them as breaks for other games. i will pick up gta4 just i'll get it after the other games that have grabed my eye. oh and i like vice the best.

They never had the best graphics but when it comes to gameplay it has it all...All you ever wanted to do you can....And the newer one is said to be differnt with all new realistic ways to get stuff...Need a weapon? take out your cellphone call a friend (most likely get a friend in a mission) and tell him to bring his van full of weapons where ever and buy em from there..No random gun shops....all im saying is it is freedom in this game...

that is what makes the game...is all that you said at the begining smithy...but with the new one they are trying to make it as realistic as possible...i like them just because of the sandbox play in it...plus its not everyday you can just shoot people and steal a fast car and run out to the boonies lol

i enjoy the pta games bevasue you can play them for a while ,the appeal last for me. i will play hard for the first few weeks then set it down come come months later and just casue distruction, run from cops, check out city and so fourth, great games

i just had to laugh right there cuz at first hes like whats the appeal and made this big thing and hes like oh welll even though i get bored im gonna cash out 60$ anyway but idno i think the new one will be good i to personally liked gta 3 the best i thought it was better all in all but yea this one looks to compete

GTA 3 was great.....but the aiming sucked if they combined GTA:SA aiming with GTA 3 I would buy it all over again!
