Call Of Duty 4 Online Problem

Hey Guys, most of you might know me as, the person who keeps others updated with Warhawk, well... Now, I'm the person who keeps others updated with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare! Haha, let's get back to the main point of this post. Pretty much all of you who own Call Of Duty: 4 Modern Combat couldn't get online for some reason. I am probably the most ticked of CoD4 player on these forums because I'm a Lv.43 Brigadier General I. The major issue here is that everytime you try to get online, it says "Downloading Game Settings", and it just takes forever . On the official Call Of Duty 4 Forums, one of the mods made an announcement stating the following, "Hey Everyone

I just wanted to let you know that we are fully aware of the issues with the PSN COD4 Matchmaking servers. We've been on the phone working with the server team from the moment they went down and will keep you updated as soon as they are back up.

Thanks for all the feedback on this issue, and I'll keep you guys updated."

Yea, so nobody knows whats causing these problems at the moment. P.S. I just beat Story Mode on Regular!

The servers are back up as of 9:19 PM EST 9/9/07

Wanted to keep you informed with the information we're getting back from the server team. They have made some updates which they feel should resolve the connection problems. If you are still experiencing issues, please provide us with as much important network information as you can, for example:

Your ISP
What's your Router
NAT level
etc.

As much info as you can provide, so we make sure everyone is taken care of.

As always, please let us know if you are still experiencing problems so we can keep the server team on it for you.

A patch isn't required, this issue is unrelated to the game's code. It's a Networking issue with the servers being slammed by the amount of people playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The only real issue is that the servers we're getting hit really hard, especially with the launch in Europe doubling that traffic, just something that requires optimizing on the server side and we've been working with the PSN COD4 Server team from the moment it started having issues assisting any way we can to help them get them up to speed faster.

Thanks for all the patience everyone, and this will not be a long term problem and as I said is merely server downtime issues.

was looking forward to doin a all nighter on cod aswell such a bummer hopefully back up for tomorrow night

i'm doing it on hard mode. keep ****ing dying but managing to get through. better on hard mode coz it lasts a couple of hours longer

also, the servers were fine when i was playing it last night. try today it may work u lot and deadjester beware!!

Every time I try and log into the multiplayer game I get logged out of PS Network errors!

Happily playing online COD 4 the other night but tonight it won't work - I assume there is a server issue again tonight? Doesn't seem to be any problem with my connection - I can access internet, online PS accout settings and other online games and I was playing COD 4 online just the other day

haveing same problem, checked online settings everything ok soon as game loads error message appears and sighned out!!!!!!!!!

aye having same problum atm everytime i load up the game i get a error message saying you have been signed out on psn lol i log back in ingame then 1-2mins later does it again lol

Hey, it's not only you guys that are having the problems it's everyone. Yes, even me... Well, the Playstation Store get's updated every Thursday and what's today? Thursday! Maybe the Playstation Network isn't function properly because there might be something big coming down the pipe. Then it might land on the Playstation Store... Get it? What I'm trying to say is, we might be getting a big demo or new firmware update or maybe even Home! But that's just what I hope... I've searched all over and couldn't find a reason for these problems. If I find the reason, I'll keep you guys updated.

btw i seem to be gettin the error on warhawk aswell profile just logs itself out guess im goin to bed instead of playin online lol

It has been sorted out for me and I've noticed how the complaints about the PSN went down on other forums. I think it should be fine now. It only happened because the Playstation Store was getting updated...

why is this happening keeps stopping at downloading game setting, is it my ps3 or thier servers can someone clear that up for me

I purchased COD4 a few days ago and hadn't even bothered with the online play until earlier today. To my shagrin, I couldn't even find a damn game to play in! Will someone explain to me exactly what I have to do to play an online game PLEASE?! It's ridiculous when my name is the only name in the lobby. Anyway, thank you for the help from ANYONE.

u just have to wait. it will find a game eventually. at most it'll take 2-3 mins.
