Burnout: Paradise

Release date shown on IGN.com is January 2008. But dates always change.

Anyone going to preorder this game, or get it when it's released? I loved Burnout Revenge. I own it. Hopefully Paradise will be even better.

I love Burnout, but the whole traffic checking addition was crap. It ruined the races.

I agree. Thats the reason why I favor the need for speeds a little bit more.

This will be a definate buy for me. The only Burnout I have owned is Takedown, and I loved it.

I've got Burnout 2, 3 and Revenge, so this should be a default for me. I enjoy the light hearted approach of the series compared to a more serious driving game like Gran Turismo, though obviously both approaches to the genre have their merits.

I have Grand Turismo 4, and I suck at it. All those series. I am terrible at. I don't even play that game anymore.

That's the problem with GT, it's a driving simulator based on real life physics and a car's handling characteristics. It doesn't have the instant pick up and play that other driving games have, which means it can become tiresome for some.

I'm rather thankful GT4 had the b-spec option for the endurance races. Couldn't have handled doing a full 24 hour race on a PlayStation .

I agree. I couldn't either. I also had some trouble with Forza Motorsports, and Forza Motorsports 2 on the Xbox, and 360

Don't say a word against Forza Motorsport! It was class! But I do dislike Gran Turismo.

I like the vast majority of automotive games out there, though there's the odd one or 2 I'm not a fan of.

Never had the chance to play the Forza games as I've never had any sort of extended time playing an XBox of any type. In fact, I've barely played an XBox full stop, which I know is odd in this day and age

I can totally understand why people would dislike GT. It's takes itself way too seriously for a start and was also missing major manufacturers like Porsche, Ferrari and the like. That should change a bit with GT5. I'm a fan of GT simply because I'm an utter car geek

Lol. Interesting. In the US. It seems as though the 360 is played more by people, whereas, where you live it probably is vis versa.

I don't have a problem with the PS3, I just don't like the joystick placement, and the fact that all the games they have out as of now, are not overly girl friendly, so I''ll continue to hold off until that point.

But really to me. Which ever console(s) people own in my mind are just on personal taste in what system they prefer.

Well, no the Xbox is more popular in the U.K and yeah, consoles are totally about personal taste and killer titles. And Blu-Ray drives.

I know more people with PS3's than 360's, but it's fairly close. 2 people I know have traded their 360's in for PS3's though, which is interesting I guess as only one of my mates did it due to the reliability issues he had with his 360. The other just wanted the latest PS

It seems DS's are the more popular console around here though. Almost every girl I know has one

Well I can't say that I have a DS. lol. Though If I did it, would be the pink DS Lite, but handhelds, aren't my cup of tea.

Where I'm from more people own the 360, vs PS3 and or they own both.

Nor me. I bought an original GameBoy back in '94 and barely played it out and about (maybe because it wasn't exactly pocket sized). The games were ok like Tetris, Mario and Zelda, but I always just got all my gaming action on my Mega Drive (Genesis).
