I know it's VERY early days but the CoD franchise has been handed back to Treyarch and apparently it's gonna be another WWII game, this time set in the Pacific...

Now after CoD 4 I was hoping the series would move with the times... like maybe a better version of Ghost Recon next? But this is a huge step back in my eyes.

My thoughts exactly... it's not certain... but knowing Treyarch and the rumours floating about...

Yeah definitely. They have a winning formula with CoD4 would be a shame to miss out on it! I reckon it shoulda been like post-modern warfare or even CoD4: Modern Warfare 2?

I had no problems with the WWII era, but after playing Modern Warfare they cant possibly go back now. Or can they?

I don't know what they could actually do... I mean what area of the WW2 HASN'T been covered yet? I mean Airborne added the parainfantry, what else is there to do?

keep your eyes peeled for a game called sabotage, its set in world war 2 but you play in paris as a man getting revenge using stealth and stuff. it looks pretty good!

Ah good call man, I guess stealth tactics haven't been covered yet. Had a look on youtube at the trailer. Seems okay, not enough revealed though.

I heard they making both CoD5 and CoD6 5 is a WW2 shooter and 6 is a Modern Warfare sequel or something!!

it will be really hard to go back to the WWII era, but if they can add/do some innovative things (see more bombing, or something like they did in 4 w/ the AC130 Gunship)...would rather see something for after modern warfare, BUT if you know that 6 is a modern warfare sequel, it would keep me around...haven't played a bad COD yet.

all i can say that following call of duty 4 is a hard task but putting it back into ww2 will doom the game. treyarch are doomed if they take the series back to its roots.

TYPICAL!!! this always happens wiv the cod series. infantary ward never eva make sequals man. they did cod 2, treyarch did shitty cod 3 and thn bak agen to infantary ward wiv the fantastic cod4. well ino which call of duty ill be looking forward to nxt

i heard that infinity ward is actually trying something new (yes quite a shocker). i think its good because they are a great developer but they need to try something new because they already know they can make amazing warfare simulations that immerse the player completly
