Hi guys. I know I'm terrible but I can not get even passed the first guy in DJ Icon in easy mode.. and I spend a lot of time practicing.. If I block I'm just being grabbed, and not blocking, well.. gets me beaten. Evading works for a while but obviously won't get the opponent's health down. Scratching, whatever it may do, always fails. Any tips? Any attacks that are really effective or tactics I can addopt? Thanks.

To begin with the games fighting is absolutly crap, so that doesnt help with the wins. I finished the game and bassically just punched kicked and threw my opponent. You scatch to set of certian bombs or other stuff. For example in one of the clubs if you scratch right the girl on the pole will swing and kick the oppent, if he is close to here. You also scratch with both sticks to change the music to yours which also gives you and advantage. If you fighting on easy and cant get passed the first guy then you are just gonna have to practice more mate, as it shouldnt be that hard.

Thats what i did with my copy mate. I loved the first 2 but EA killed the 3rd one.

If you want a Def Jam game. Get the second one. Fight for NY. Its a PS2 game but its pretty cool.

Sorry mate don't have a PS2. Gave the game one last try though. Some quick punches with the coloured buttons will force your opponent to block, subsequently launching a power attack then never misses! I cruise thru the game with ease now. Specially when the opponent is cornered, you can launch five, six power attacks in a row! But you're right the game is pretty boring..

What is a good beat 'm up then? Virtua Fighter? Fight Night? Or should I wait for the new Tekken? Thing is, I tend to only like games where I can create my own characters.. so that's what drew me to DJ Icon

If you are having trouble playing Def Jam on easy dont get Virtual fighter. Its a pretty hardcore game as it needs you to put alot of time and effort into learning the moves and such. Fight Night is good but id recomend Fight Night Round 2 over 3. As for games that are out now i guess Fight Night would be my pick. If your willing to wait a while Soul Calibour is coming which is looking awsome.

Its a fighting game with rap artist in it. The first two games were cool. And the third game Def Jam ICON which is on ps3 and 360 looked awsome and had massive potential. The background would move to the beat and it had a weird look to it but it worked real well. But the controls killed the game big time, it made it real anoying to use.
