Assasins Creed, Overrated by Critics?

i borrowed assassins creed from a friend and have beaten the game. at first i was amazed with the amazing enviornment graphics and freedom of climbing and traversing urban enviornments. it was really cool, until it got really repetitive and i started to hate a lot of things about it. the sci fi twist i think was very lame especially b/c controlling the character wasnt not much fun and the actual story was very compelling to me. then there is just little things, like the retarded citizens who smack u for no reason, especially when there on the port and knock u into the water and u drown immediatly. i just think this game was overrated by the public, how do u guys feel?

This game is NOT overated! How dare you say that! For that, you will be officially be shot by a SAS Soilder from COD4, get beaten up by a boxer from Fight Night Round 3, followed by a butt rape from a minator from Elder Scroll 4 Oblivion!

Lol joking, but maybe it's just you. Me, I simply loved the game

Yeah it deserves it, there is a hell of aolt of detail and animations put into that game, it may get dull but it still looks the part. Poeple loved it because it was so fluent.

Yes it is overrated. But i gotta say the controls were great and the graphics were good as well. Hopefully for the next one they mix it up abit, when it comes to the missions

i think if the next game was in the present it would be much cooler. and the story could be better and more evolved. (and less repetitive)

It doesnt matter if it was future or past mate. The story has the potential to be good anytime. It is repedative because they were to lazy to do anything with it.

The repetitiveness is the only thing wrong with it, I like the game but I agree it got repetivtive hopefully they change that for the next one if their is one.

i just think putting it in the future would be more intresting, the new world setting was ok but it made the story dull

I couldn't agree more.

However, with this I can disagree. It'd be too much like Hitman if they did a modern time, because it would end up having guns or something like that.

Because this game was something new. It's not like those "generic" FPS. It brought back the fun into gaming. I just loved the story line, even though it was stupid in the end. I'm hoping that their will be a number 2

but i enjoyed hitman much more than assasins. hitman made u think and plan out your strategy and there was variety in the missions. what was also good is that they cut out the story which works for some games

Agreed with the repetitiveness... most of the game is spent mashing the same attack button, with the occasional "blend" into a "silent" kill (which works great saving citizens as you can normally pick two guards off before you have to wield the heavy sword). Its still a really cool game that did some original stuff, even though it felt at times like hitman. The climbing and stuff was put immediately into Drake's Fortune (I hear, as I haven't yet played it)...overall its a good game, that probably is slightly overrated, but its not a game that was rated 90 and should've been a 70.
