Call of Duty: World at War Release Date and Beta Announced
Activision issues a press release date revealing the release date (November) of the upcoming CoD title, World at War.

The press release also mentions a multiplayer beta that's going to open in October, although it doesn't mention whether this will be available to PS3 users or not - hopefully Activision will clarify this shortly.

Boot camp will soon take on a new meaning, as Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch, have confirmed plans for Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas in October for the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and separately for download on Windows PC. These betas will serve as an early chance for players to practice the tactics needed for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War's Pacific and European theaters. Players will experience the game's new squad system, as well as fan favorite perks and kill streaks.

All preparation for the full battle will commence on November 11, 2008 when Call of Duty: World at War is released to retailers nationwide.

"We are excited to share a sneak peak of Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer with the community," says Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head. "The team has worked hard to build upon the great history and foundation of Call of Duty multiplayer and we can't wait to go online to ramp up for our November launch."

I know these games are still crazy popular, but to be honest, I just can't seem to get excited about yet another CoD game anymore.

I'll definitely rent this, I want to play the campaign. If they do it like CoD4 but with WW2 environment, it'll be dope, and I'm guessing they will do it that way.

I agree,its abit play it safe if you ask me.I think the best thing activison did was step away from the ww2 format but at least you no its gona be good.
They do do these games well.
I might rent it out.has there been ahy cod5 trailers released yet?

i think a suprising number of ppl are going to be picking this up because of the good reviews its getting in magazines such as gameinformer i think ill pick it up because itll most likly be the last cod ww2 game and itll prolly be amazing
