playstation network time out message

Hey,
Does anyone no anything about the time out message when connecting to the network 4 online gaming. Sony says its because theres 2 many peole online because im still able to open the web browswer. As well i was playin last week no issues but since friday i havent been able to connect. If anyone could help me out it would be helpful thanx

yea i have the same problem, last week i was fine and then sunday i wasn't able to get online. i called sony and they said not to worry about it, its just that there servers are currently down. hopefully they'll be back up soon though.

just create a new login on the ps3. Then create a new network account with the same info., as your last one accept change the user name. I figured out the loop hole sony doesn't even no what they are talkin about cause now i can sign on all the time again it has nothin to do with the network the accounts just mess up i guess. After i left this thread i was messin with the ps3 and i figured i would try that and it worked. So dont listen to sony cause they just tell u that so you will quit buggin them cause really they have no idea.

i just use a Ethernet cable and i have had no problems what so ever. The single is perfect and the load time is fast. I had to buy a 50 foot Ethernet cable though because my computer is a floor away. But it only cost me 15 dollars.

yea i just bought an ethernet cable (25ft) and i get a perfect connection. this way i wont have any problems.

Navigate the playstation 3 menu system to settings, scroll down to network settings, then choose media server connection option. Select to disable media server connection.

Tried that. Didn't work.

Although it did get closer. At least this time, the network test indicated success on the Playstation Network test. The network tries to connect, then it says "network connection lost"

omg! disabling the media connection works perfect! i thought it was b/c i was using a neighbors internet but it was the enabled media. THANK YOU SO FREAKIN MUCH! try this, it works!

If you still need the help or if others are googling this... PS3 cannot read Wireless N, only G... so i changed my settings on my router and changed it to mixed/ you can do G only... well that worked for me, instead of having a wire all over my walls.... i hate wires

none of this stuff is working for me .... DAmmit some one help me i turned media network to disabled didnt work switched my router didnt work

Disabling the Media Connection did not work for me, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
