Could Gran Turismo 5 come out this year?

Sony have already announced that the Gran Turismo HD Concept will be available for download in time for the European console launch - but is it too crazy to believe we could be seeing the full game release this year?

From the press release: "A big year for Gran Turismo starts with a free download for PS3 owners. We can't say too much right now, but it's going to be a big year for this title; Gran Turismo HD Concept is just the beginning."

Interesting huh? Maybe they're just gonna throw out another concept demo? Or maybe we could be looking at GT5 itself

Nice find! I was under the impression that GT5 will be out next year, but if Polyphoney and Sony decide to release it this year, I believe it will definitely help to boost the PS3 sales.

I heard that it was being pushed to 2008 and is slated to have "exotic" cars that have never appeared. courtesy of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_turismo_5

"Gran Turismo 5 is currently under development for the Playstation 3. The name has recently been released, and it is being developed under the name "Gran Turismo HD" It will be outputting at 1080p and 60fps. The game will include online races for the first time ever in a Gran Turismo game, and realistic damage modelling which has been missing from all previous GT games.[citation needed] The game will also feature Ferrari cars[citation needed] for the first time in a Gran Turismo game. Release date is unknown but estimated at a 2008 release."
