Hi everyone, finally the PS3 is making its way over to the UK! I'm posting to ask about what launch title to get, well to be more precise I'm thinking of getting resistance and want to hear your opinions on it. From what I can see so far its receieved good reviews but can anyone here talk from first hand experience? am I going to be disappointed?

I wasn't disappointed when I played it, I thought it was a great game. It has a great single player campaign, an attractive offline co-op mode, and the online 40 player multiplayer is the one of the best I have seen for any console games. The games is developed by Insomniac, the maker of ratchet and clank, and as expected they added a bunch of cool weapons in the game. If you like first person shooters, then you will like this game.

Some other titles I have played and enjoyed are Fight Night Round 3, Need for Speed: Carbon, Call of Duty 3, Ridge Racer, Tony hawk's Project 8, Motorstorm, flOw, Blast Factor, Blazing Angels, and Tekken: Dark Resurrection. The games I have played and didn't like much are Full Auto 2, Cash, Guns and Chaos, and Sonic... I also have Virtura Fighter 5, although I enjoyed it, but it is not a game for everyone...

Resistance is a great game, just not amazing. I think the good scores were a product of review sites looking for the first must own PS3 title. Resistance has the total package (great story, fun weapons, intense battles, and awesome AI) but it has the deja vu feeling of been there done that. Online is the best aspect. Not only are matches lag free but the 40 man games are cool.

MotorStorm should be ready by then, that is truly a must own title.

resistance to me is the best game right now for ps3 and probaly will be tell the end of march, its very different then other first person shooters and the story is great, also the online play is amazing.. unlike call of duty 3 resistance allows you to actually play online for something (getting medals and badges and rising through the ranks of the army) with this comes a whole bunch of different clothing and accessories for your soldier...so yea get resistance and if your looking for a racing type game go with motorstorm or need for speed..to strong titles as well

I bought Resistance, Full Auto, and Tony Hawk with the console back in January. Resistance is the only one I play now. Graphics are awesome, gameplay is good, great story line. The online mode is the BOMB!! I finished the campaign in "easy" mode and now pretty much play it only online. The only real downside to the online is there are some REALLY good players online and I tend to get my butt kicked on a regular basis. FYI, I am a very casual player and of "moderate" skill level so take that with a grain of salt.

Someone else mentioned this, you do have the feeling that there is nothing terribly new about the game, its just a REALLY well executed version of stuff thats already out there.

Was it worth the $60? Absolutley. The really good news? If this is what they could put out at the PS3 launch, I cant wait to see what games are put out when developers really start to flex the muscle of the PS3.

ya i would definitely buy resistance, at the launch. it is just pure fun, and really if you beat it once you kind of want to beat it again and again, it doesn't get old like some other games do. If you like racing games though more than shooting games than buy motorstorm it is the best racing game i have ever played. "people" say it is like atv off road fury. but after purchasing the game the first day it came out march 6th. it is really nothing at all like atv. not a bit. so i would buy those two games first. or one or the other if you are just looking to get one at launch.

I have been playing this game for some days now and its pretty good. There's only one thing, i been playing it in the middle difficulty level and i havent been really challenged yet. I find too many ammo and too few chimeras to shoot. Also there is a yellow life can (dont remember the name) in almost every corner! Am i getting too good?

i bought the game with my system yesterday...and i love it....cool story so far and the ai gets better and better.

im getting this, ridge racer 7 and gundam musou, tell me...
does it match or exceed gears of war for the 360? i played that and thought it was truly a great game

Couldnt agree more, thanks to all the positive reviews guys, I picked it up after seein the new site they launched for the european release ( http://www.resistancefallofman.com ) Def a recommended title.

Just finished this yesterday - loved every minute of it.

The AI was really impressive, and the spider creatures never failed to scare the hell out of me

My only complaint would be the ending - well final scene. I didn't realise it was the final chapter until the credits started rolling - i was half expecting a big showdown with the Queen Chimeara or something..

Overall though an awesome game and i dont think i'll ever get bored replaying the Jeep stages

This game takes forever, i been playing for a month (like 5hrs a week) and havent finished yet! How many levels are there? Im in the one where you have to jump in some like fans to climb all the way up.

yeah, it does take a bout 15 - 20 hrs the first time round if your like me and look in every nook and cranny (is that how you spell "nook"?

my only problem was the AI of the enemy is brilliant but as for the soldiers WTF!!! they're crap their only use is to draw fire. I know htere suppose to be not as good as you, but they could help out a bit. NOOBS

yeah finished it the other night on co-op was brill...

yeah i agree with sprint on the ending part... was a bit dissapointed even tho it did make sense if you followed the story...
could of ended better....

and what was with that final scene after the credits?
