Demo_disk is almost correct,
but i have a HK NTSC PS3 and i can play both USA and UK Blu ray dvds, it depends if they are Region A/B/C
USA/ Japan / and Hong Kong (NOT China) use region A
European and Australasian PS3's use region B,

alot of the blu ray dvd's are region ABC so it doesn't matter, so just check the back of the case.

ALL PS3 GAMES are REGION FREE

Hi all

I just read through the thread and I'm not all happy
On page two wrote somebody that with software 1.6 should all DVDs start to work, a few posts later it was again a No.
So, now with todays firmware and an american PS3, what will work in europe and what not? (not in France ;) )

i am leaving for melbourne next month...i am planning of buying a ps3 over dere....i want answers to d following questions...
1.does d aus 40gb ps3 console now ship in wid dualshock3?
2.i hav my flight via hong kong..if i buy ps3 games from dere..will dey work fine?
3.also d all firmware updates will be already installed or i hav to do it myself?
4.How long does d ps3 last if we use it for gaming only?

hi there guys i have a PAL PS3 bought in south africa
i am currently in China and was thinking of buying metal gear solid..at the back it doesnt indicate PAL/NTSC coded, will it b able to work on my PAL PS3?
i have HDTV back in SA and i think it can operate both NTSC and PAL.

i have a standard TV it is pal and ntsc compatible..i used to work my ntsc PlayStation on it..i just want to know if i buy a ps3 from the usa can i work pal games on it ?..my tv supports both...also i think the quality of picture will be good since i have components inputs the 5 wires thing..thnx

Hey guys!!!!I am from Greece and i am going to buy an European ps3 in a few days..I have a brand new Sony bravia(4 months model) and i want to know if i could play american games to my ps3 or i'll need to buy a NTSC to PAL converter!It's all a matter of cost...american games are soooo cheap!I'm looking forward for your answers...pleeeeeaaaaaseeeee!

Region 2 ps3 + region 2 game still not working???
Hey guys,i hv this GTA4 game and i cant play it at all and it seems like somethin is wrong wif the resolutions 80028f10 errror. but the weird part is my console and tv are both ntsc compatible...hmmm can anyone help me on this?really want play this game ....

Read your messages aabout ps3 from hong kong seems you no what you talking about so would like to no if you could help me

i recently recive my ps3about 2 weeks ago from HK and i line in south africa everything works fine except for playing normal dvd's an area code error comes up

i read tht i need to download the version update 1.60 but cant seem to find it only find the latest update 2.50and want to no if i update it with the latest verion will it work or must i find the v 1.6
