Dualshock on PS3
I really miss the rumble in my controller, and since at this moment few games support the SIXAXIS motion, and the fact that I already sold my PS2, i was wondering if there is any way to use my good old DUALSHOCK on my PS3 for playing PS2 games and have my rumkble back? I know ps3 games wont rumble :P

I think an adapter is coming out for it in May.

Are Sony not planning on introducing rumble back into Sixaxis at a later date?

Not right now, there is a legal battle among Sony and the developer of that rumble technology.

Yah I was aware of that but I heard that Sony had somehow resolved this dispute with Immersion and they were wanting to put rumble in alongside motion sensitivity

I hope so... i miss my rumble and the heaviness of the good old DUALSHOCK
EDIT: heaviness is, i think, because of the rumble gear inside the controller

The DualShock works with the PS-to-USB controller adapters. You just need to hit the Analog button so the PS3 recognizes it for PS2 or PSone games. The problem is, the PS3 doesn't output the rumble signals so you still won't get anything even with the appropriate controller.

I heard that Sony and Immersion had sorted out there problems, and that they are planning to implement rumble back into controllers at a later date?
It has also been stated [unofficialy, of course] that God of War III will support rumble AND sixaxis motion.
Quote:

The PS3's Sixaxis controller could be rumbling once again sooner rather than later, with word reaching us that Sony have settled their legal dispute with tech-owner Immersion, to the tune of 120 million USD. GameSpot reports that God of War II director Corey Barlog revealed that the technology could soon be returning, speaking at a launch event held for God of War II in San Francisco last night.

Immersion is the other company, and Sony ended up paid them $40 million or something for patent infringement. So clearly there is some animosity between the two companies. I hope Sony will work with Immersion and bring the rumble back to the PS3.
EDIT: I also heard that Sony and Immersion have ironed things out, and the rumble will be back.
