AVI and VCD
well hey guys... i have yet come up wit another problem to ask u guys for help wit my ps3... i have recently burned a disc my friend had given me wit a movie on it... on is AVI as a codec... i put it in my ps3 and it doesnt seem to b able to play it.... and i put my VCD version of the movie and it doesnt seem to play it so is there anysuggesttions?

The PS3 only plays mpegs, not avi. Try using one of those conversion tools you can get online to change the video format.

I'm gonna ask too...what is with the vid playback on the PS3. It seemingly supports almost nothing.

I've tried MPEG4 and other file types and yet it won't play it. I'll display the file stats and it comes up the size and length of the clip in question but refuses to play it because it's not recognised.

I'm a little annoyed as I've got all these episodes of Lost and the like that I wanted to watch through my PS3 and I can't seemingly do it. I wasn't sure if it was a problem with DivX or maybe a unrecognisable Codec.

Either way, this is kinda crappy
