Hard drive upgrade
Has anyone upgraded their PS3's hard drive yet?
If so was it easy? And whats the max drive size the PS3 can take?

It was fairly simple, although I had some trouble with one mounting screw on the bracket. Like Siege said, the largest you can go at this point is 160 GB, although 200 GB and 250 GB 2.5" SATA drive are in development. I have listed the steps to replace yourIf you want to swap the hard drive, just make sure you buy a 5400 RPM SATA-150 2.5" drive (Preferribly Seagate). To change the hard drive, all you have to do is remove the plastic hard drive bay cover on the left side of your PS3, then unscrew and remove the metal hard drive cover, pull the hard drive out, remove its brackets, put the new drive in the brackets and stick it back into the PS3. Be sure to backup your files before you change your hard drive, so you can restore all of your data onto the new hard drive.

okay I have the 160 in and cost me $109 USD it's about as simple as it gets. if you stand your PS3 on end it would be at the bottom. you'll see a little cover that denotes it's the hdd. remove the blue screw ,slide sideways, remove drive, remove four screws from caddy, replace drive with bigger one, replace in opposite order and boot up. follow prompts and congrats.

I was actually more of asking about the 4 screws. Because I found it hard to remove without the right screw driver and I might need to get one and I do not know how I will bring the tray or the screw as it is inconvenient for me.
