Unbelievable! Blue Ray player only supports TV's with 1080p
...no wonder blu ray movies are downscaled to 480p on my TV  (which is 720p)...Sony, what have you done!!

Ya the whole thing on blu ray that it is only 1080p......

Well my Tv is SD anyway, but I was going to purchase a 1080p TV some time in the near future. So thanks for the heads up.

Unless I'm reading it wrong you don't have to have a 1080p TV, you just have to have a TV that can accept a 1080i/p signal which most HDTVs do. So even if your TV is 720p it probably still accepts a 1080 signal, and should work. I might be wrong but thats my understanding of it.

If you have a SDTV then it doesn't affect you because you can only get 420i and that is what it would scale it down to anyway.  |

no no no they work on all tv jsut the 720p anit supported but realy i think if the tv can support a 1080p signal then the tv should downscale it to 720p
