Hi, I had some problems with my PS3 but recently I found a great tech support site that help you deal with those problems.
They have free live support as well.

Here is the page for PS3 Support

Good luck

Your PC is running Windows and the PS3 is running on its own XMB. Despite the use of TCP/IP between both machines, there are no common networking solution for both. When Windows share files with each other, they use a service called the Windows File and Printer Sharing service and require the other node to be in either a workgroup or a domain, so in other words, there is no simple TCP/IP share here. However, there are some homebrew software out there that will allow you to share and stream files between your PS3 and your PC, but I wouldn't trust them unless if they are manufactured by a reputable company.

Another way that might work is if you setup a FTP server on your Windows machine and download files from your FTP server to your PS3.

I haven't tried this but how about a USB transfer cable. You can get one that has superlink sort of built in and automatically fires up on your laptop and gives you 2 windows to copy and paste. This may not work though as there are conflicting OS. I shall try it and let people know. Failing that - get a 4Gb+ USB flash drive which cost **** all nowadays. £20
