reversing joystick

Hi all. First of all, I'm new to the gaming world so I apologize in advance for my deep ignorance on this subject. I just bought a PS3 and I am having a really hard time getting used to the left joystick when controlling vehicles and specially planes. I fly remote control planes and the most common setting for the transmitter is mode 2, in which the right joystick of the radio transmitter controls the elevator (up and down) and the ailerons (left/right roll), with the left joystick controlling the throttle (power) and the rudder (left/right yaw). These settings are the opposite of those on the PS3 control. Is there a way to alter the joystick functions so they act like a regular mode 2 R/C transmitter? I've been flying R/C for ever so I am very, very uncomfortable and frustrated with the PS3 controls. Thanks for your help.

sorry mate, but i don't think you can. unless you look at the ''change congifuration'' thing on some games, thats the only way to change the controls..

what game are you playing anyway?

Ouch, that really sucks I'm playing Blazing Angels and Motor Storm and I really need my right thumb to do the job it's been trained to do for so many years. I'm an old dog by now, it's hard to learn new tricks at my age I'm also concerned retraining my thumbs might affect my R/C flying. Hopefully someone has a cheat for this, I don't know... Maybe rewiring the joysticks in the control would do it...
I'm in trouble

don't worry, when i first got into console gaming, i had the PS1 and learned the controls in a few days...if you ever get to grips with the controls it wouldn't effect your rc flying atall...........i wouldn't see how anyway.

(what plane you got anyway?)

Yeah don't worry you'll pick it up quick enough and your R/C flying wont be affected. I hated having to use 2...**** what are they called? um **** it...joysticks and I hated inverted Y axis even more. I now love 2 joysticks and inverted y axis but can still kick ass on goldeneye with just one.
