Well yes. PS3 is like PC. So there is no problem. Just close the HDTV.

Oh, right. I didn't think of that. Too bad it doesn't have a system like the 360 where you can put it in a standby mode so it can continue to download while appearing to be shut down and using minimal power.

I leave mine on 24/7 also....cause when I'm not gamin' my ps3 is Folding Proteins at lightning speed....woo hoo...cure for cancer here I come....

I'm up to 400 hours of donated computer processing power....at its finest of course, thanks to the PS3.

i got mine on atm and its not getting to hot my gf away for camp its kind of nice cause her pc put out alot of heat but a 1200 watts power suply will do that

If you hit triangle on the item you are downloading in the Download Manager you can pause the download and come back to it whenever you want. You can come back and resume the download after even after switching it off on the back of the unit. You can have it download while you are playing games or movies too. No need to keep your PS3 on when you are not actually using it.
