OK, so I'm currently using a 'Linksys WRT54GS'. I'm with Telewest, so it's a cable connection, I think. I'm soon switching to Sky Broadband, which is satellite. So my question is, will I need a new router when I get Sky Broadband?

nope......just hook up the cords the same way and all should be fine!

But I have seen cable modems and ADSL modems... Surely, there is a difference.

Pav, i think they should supply a new router..if not get one. because i have an ADSL one, used to have a cable when we didn't have broadband and we had to get a new one. i think thats the case anyway..

oh and YOU'RE not switching your PARENTS are...you mofo =]

im getting sky broadband pav and i get a free wireless router with the max product. are you having actual satelite broadband or is it coming through the phone line?

oh right, well cause i allready have sky tele im just getting the broadband. you should find out if you will be getting a router but i think that you should be able to use the one you allready have. the sky one is a netgear router so if you can get one from them it would be worth it!

I just tried a few different things, can't remember exactly what. You'll figure it out.
