New controller...no USB cable
I just bought my second controller.....I was bummed to say the least that it didnt come with a USB charge cable.....I feel sony stuck it to me again.....I didnt buy the cable cause I can use the one that came with the ps3, but I think its still bullshit....

think you can prob use an iPod one for it for example. All you need is mini-USB to USB cable.

you think thats fair........when you spend $50 for a controller and no cable with it......its not that big of a deal cause i'll just use the one that came with the ps3.....its the principal of it all.......you spend x amount for everything and they cant include a 10 dollar cable???

I'm in the same situation. I was pondering purchasing a new controller but in my care I don't want the cables taking up all the USB ports on the PS3 (I have an external drive hooked up).
There are lots of USB Hubs marketed for the PS3. I'm sure even a generic HUB for a PC would work (but possibly not charge very fast).
The solution I am looking into is the NYKO charging base. The base connects to an outlet so it does not take up one of your USB ports. The Base also charges up to 4 controllers.
Only thing that sucks is it is pretty expensive from retailers.

It's Expensive but you have to figure it doesn't use any of your USB ports. That and if you used a USB HUB the controllers wouldn't charge as fast.

Marz is right, it does suck. $50 for the controller and they can't supply a cable that must cost them $2 to manufacture. It's the same as the 360 not coming with a wireless adapter or new controllers coming with headsets.
If the Wii can have a built in wireless adapter then Microsoft are cocks for not including one, same goes for this USB cable and sony.

No. It's not gonna cost them any money so why don't they include it. It's like going and buying a burger for £5 then finding out you gotta spend another £2 on the buns. Or going and buying a TV for £500 then finding out you have to spend an extra £50 for a remote. It's not that you can't afford it, its that you should have to buy it. Controllers have always come with the wires, why should this change? |
