There are 2 ways to do this one is easier than the other......first i read somewhere that the ps3 will only recognise fat32 file system which means if your ext.hd is ntfs you'll have to format to fat32 and your ps3 will recognise it..but if you have a lot of movies and music on ur ext.hd like i do, that is just not possible. The other simple option is to use tversity to gain access to it through windows and u'll be amazed how easy it is to use! also it plays everything with minimal effort! go here "http://www.tversity.com/home" to get it.
