When I have 1080p on my Ps3 I can play games with 720p and BD movies with 1080p. but when I play games with 1080i resolution , like rainbow6 LV, I cant move my character forwards or sideways without getting a flickery screen(not brutal, but annoying "white" flicker). BUt when I turn my ps3 resolution down to 1080i , games like this work fine.

is this normal? or should I be able to play 1080i games with my ps3 on 1080p without flicker?

i read something about this, when u play a game thats not the resolution u currently have it will change to the games resolution and cause a flicker, u can avoid this by changing the display settings exact to the game ur playing, i dont have my HDTV yet so thats all.

yeah you need to read the back of the ps3 game box it will tell you the resolution it supports...some games will let you get away with a higher resolution but other games will do...well what you said...flicker...or worse...look like utter shit....so in conclusion just turn down your resolution to match the back of the box for the best picture with no problems
