Oh yes, we've had nothing but trouble with the USB ports. Got the PS3 12/07. USB ports worked until headset, keyboard and controller were unplugged, then the USB ports didn't work anymore. Sent the system back on 12/14, received new PS3 on 12/16. Same thing. USB ports worked the first time but after things were uplugged, they didn't work anymore. Customer Service wasn't as helpful the second time. Tried to blame it on software issues and non-compatible peripherals. Funny -- they worked an hour earlier. Tipped the system up and was able to plug controller in. I think they are loose or someone forgot to put screws in on the assembly line or something. It almost sounds like the USB ports are moving backwards when you try to plug something in. If it weren't for losing the warranty, I'd take it apart and see what is going on. But can't do that.
With all the waiting for the release, you'd think Sony would have gotten it right.
