Hello all. New to the forum, and hoping someone can clear some things up for me. I just got my 60 GB PS3 last night, and I am very frustrated about my hardware space. The only things I have downloaded have been the 1.90 firmware update and flOw (which, by the way, is very cool). However, when I view my system information under system settings, I am told I have only 47 out of 55 gigs or space remaining. How is this possible? I assume that the 5 gigs that takes it from 60 to 55 is partitioned away for certain things, but I would have thought those things would include system updates. Not to mention the fact that the 20 GB 360 harddrive only sets aside maybe three gigs tops. But that 5 gigs aside, how is it possible that I have lost those other 8 gigs? Has anyone else experienced this? Can someone please help?

you lost that much space??? what games do you have because some games use up your space too...

The PS3 does have a restore partition in there, plus the partition table, then a boot manager.

But yeah it does seem to take up a lot of space.

Thanks for responding. I know it sounds silly, but I haven't actually bought any real games yet, waiting for Lair in a couple of weeks. The whole space thing seems ridiculous though. Is there somewhere you can look at what is on your drive and how much space each thing takes up? I can't seem to find anything of the sort.
