hi there i recently bought a ps3 off of ebay only finding out that it says "Console Modified for IDU use only" on the box and then when i go to play games nothing seems to work. But it came woth all the cables and wires. I then hit the seller up about it and he told me that you can reverse it making it a normal ps3. I have tried formatting the hdd to no avail, so im asking if anyone knows how to unmodify it so it can be normal again!!
I cant send it into sony as i have no original proof of purchase!!

So please help me, any help will be much appreciated!!

i aint heard of it either. the best thing you can do is phone sony and ask what could be done to fix the problem urself. what did the seller tell u 2 do in order to reverse this problem?

depending on what game shopsare in your area they might have a repair service that could help you out, try local shops first the bigger ones like gamestop just send them to the company for repair which won't help you.

hey thanks alot guys!!the problem is everything is normal but i cant get in to the configuration settings and games dont seem to work. Its like theres something thats blocking it, im just wandering weather its a hardware component or software related.

sounds more software than hardware.
