Is PS3 video out connector same as PS2?
Clueless dad asking:
We have a PS2 connected to our ED plasma TV's component video (and audio) inputs, and it works great.
When the new PS3 gets here, can I just unplug the cable from the PS2 and plug it into the PS3? Or is a different cable required for the PS3?

it comes with composite cables.....but if you want component then that is sold seperately like the HDMI cable....I honestly don't think or know if the connector that plugs into the ps2 will be the same that plugs into the ps3....

Yes you can use your PS2 component cable. You do not need an HDMI cable to view HD component cables are capable of 1080i. Since your TV is ED you won't get HD...but I hope you have realized that.
