I recently learned that I need a new hard drive for my PS3. Something is obviously wrong with mine (go visit my other forum to see) and so I need a new one. So my question is, do they sell separate hard drives, or do you need to buy a brand new system entirely? And if they do sell them separate, how much do they cost? After my question is answered this topic can be deleted or whatever, I just want to know. Thanks.

I didn't even know you could take the HDD off of the console? I thought it was built in..

yeah most people upgrade their HDD"s, iv just ordered a 120gb hardrive.
It has to be a 2.5' SATA hardrive, these are common in laptops.
You could get a 60gb for around £25 as my 120gb was 50.

i think your best bet would be to hit up computer stores and ask for the kind of HDD you need.

You could buy a higher hardrive, your PSN is saved built in, but your games won't. Alternativly you could buy a external hardrive.

Ok your gonna need a memory stick, you dont need anything high so get a cheap one for a few quid, all you need is like 3mb max.
This is the one iv ordered, you might as well get a higher one seeing as how games are using more space, demos, music, video and install HDD parts with most games.
