The PS3 doesn't need it. Just make sure it has breathing room.

ya, I've had no problems with the cooling yet. my buddy has an auxilary cooler and he thinks it works, but unless you can get them to throw it in as a deal, it's a waste of money.

I own the Pelican Air Flow Cooler. To be honest you don't need it, but if you have the extra cash its nice to have. Nothing wrong with protecting your investment. Only problem is that the fans sometimes grind against the shell of it so it makes an annoying buzz.

So the fan grinding against the shell is protecting your investment.

If your ps3 does need a intercooler because it crashes or overheats little bit of advice.... if its under warrentee or insurance take it back its obvusly fooked. Nothing should overheat these days its just basic air management.

Adding a extra fan on the back usaly dosnt do anything its what the system puts out that matters... the extra cooler is only taking away air the ps3 has alraedy thrown out hasnt it..

ps3 - No fan
360 - Get fan or you cant get insurance for your house (Fire)

Nah you don't need it. I've only owned my 360 for a couple of weeks longer than my PS3. My PS3 works fine, but my 360 keeps giving me disc read errors and makes horrible grinding noises with the disc drive.
