Just bought a PS3 a few days ago. Sorry, but very new to this.
Just wondering if i can use my apple ipod charger to charge the Wireless conrller ?
Currently charging it w/ my laptap usb out. Seems fine.
i notice that if i use the ps3 to charge it, the ps3 unit has to be on also & by doing so it the fan of the unit is turned on. I think it stresses the unit more.
what would be better is to have to controllers, while one is playing, one can also charge the 2nd unit.
^^^^That's the setup I have, though the main reason was for multiplayer, but I guess that is really convenient too I never thought of what a person with one controller has to do. But for less than $10 you can get a long USB cable so you can play the PS3 with the controller wired until it fully charges.

As long as you have the right connections (i.e. usb) on the cable, you can use any cable you desire. As far as what you use to power the cable, the same thing applys. All you need is one usb port, and one mini usb port, and a computer, or PS3, or even my cell phone charger is a mini usb. All these things work as long as there is a power source.
