Very new to this.
Just want to know, what is the life expectancy before things start to fail on a PS3 ?
A friend hinted that i should play the PS3 2-3 hours per session, then let the machine rest for an hour or two, then resume game.

Also, when saving a game and planning to resume it few hours later, is it best to leave the blue ray inside the machine ? or best to eject it out, then re-insert to resume the game ?

Who know mate. Somethings break on others some don't. Just play it and enjoy it. Dont worry about minor things like that.

Overheating wise; you dont really have to worrie about it. I played resistance for 12 straight hours when it first came out lol. nothing bad happened. Plus people fold at home for DAYS and dont even touch their ps3. Not sure about the blue ray though i havent even used mine, i still need an HDTV.

Well hopefully nothing will ever go wrong with the system. If you are gonna be worried about all these little things, than I say you might just be thinking about them so hard that these bad things might happen. Your mind is a very powerfull thing. Just play hard, for as long or as little as you want. I have had mine on and playing a game for hours and hours. I havent had any problems so far. I hope I never do. I am not thinking about all the bad things though. I just play and enjoy. Fix the problem if one ever comes up. Until then, just do what you do.

10 years plus. the ps3 is a quality built machine and the fialure rate is less than 1 percent. no red rings of death here
