Capture Card

I think if I want to get footage of me playing I need a capture card but I dont know too much about it. How much do they cost and where can u get 1? Also, how does it work, like connecting to my system. Feedback and tips would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know much about capture cards, but just thought of another alternative.

Couldn't you take a Digital Camcorder and hook it up to your TV so it records the video? And I don't mean pointing the Camera to the TV and recording, I mean making it directly capture the video feed, like what you do if you wanted to record a TV show. (Before TiVo)

hi
I've used a TV capture card with my PS2 when my tv broke (i was to skint to buy a new TV so plyed on my PC lol) Its a differnt console but same theory. Believe it or not the best place for them are ebay there are 1000s and all dirt cheap dont spend more than £20 unless you want a super hyper awesome one that you'l never use lol.
Make sure you buy one with the red, white and yellow inputs (or even just white and yellow (some have a yellow input and a 3.5mm audio input(like mine) if this is so then just buy a RCA (red and white cable) to 3.5mm adapter off ebay (again dirt cheap)
How to use it,
Turn off PC unplug power lead. open PC case insert card into a spare PCI slot (dw about working out which slot is which if you dont know, it will only fit into a PCI slot so if it fits then its in)
put PC back together power up install included software plug PS3 red, yellow white leads to corresponding inputs, switch on PS3 open software and select input and your away. click record and thats it
